Thought this might be of interest. Did an over nighter on the Neches River but this could have been done in a day easily. Put in at highway 94 near Alto, TX and took out at Holly Bluff Campsite. West bank is the Davy Crockett National Forest.
Gauge level was 10 ft at Alto gauge.
Total river miles was 11.9
Total travel time was 4 1/2 hours.
Would not recommend this route below a gauge height of 10 feet. 12 feet being ideal.
Only hazard was a downed tree that someone had cut in half making a tricky small path. Would be easy to navigate in a kayak.
