Let's do an easy/slow urban night trip approximately 4-5 miles/2-3 hours, paddling along the perimeter of Lake Woodlands, in The Woodlands, TX, to view the Christmas lights decoration.
This is a beginner friendly paddle and a trip that very few people get to experience.
Water temperature and air temperature in the evening is in the upper 60's F. We will try to prevent any capsizes. Bring a full set of clothes and a towel to leave in the car should you want to change clothes at the end.
Bring your own canoe or touring kayak or rent one from Constantin. Please bring decorations to beautify your kayak, including party lights; please have at least one light on your boat for safety reasons. HCC and ACA rules apply. We will designate a lead boat and a sweeper boat. We can modify the itinerary based on circumstances.
Bring several drinking water bottles and a snack.
There is heavy traffic around 4-5pm on most highways. Please start driving early to avoid delays.
Meet by the boat ramp at Northshore Park in The Woodlands, TX (2505 Lake Woodlands Dr., The Woodlands, TX, 77380) at 5pm. The intention is to be on the water soon thereafter. The park closes at night and we should drive out before 9pm.
