What is this?
A 15-mile bird count paddle on Peach Creek, Caney Creek, and the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. We will meet at 0700 at the entrance to Lake Houston Wilderness Park on FM 1495 and head down to the Caney Creek Canoe Launch, which is actually on Peach Creek. This is an out-and-back trip, so no need to shuttle. We will count birds along the creeks and on the back sloughs. This is usually a very pleasant, unhurried event, in a very pretty part of the upper Lake Houston watershed.
