Conservation Notes
April 2020

Frank Ohrt:

A bill is up for consideration in Congress, dedicating funding for river conservation. This is how our rivers get protection, or not. Make your voice heard. (Courtesy of American Whitewater.)  Learn more by clicking here.

Frank Ohrt:

There are several bills in the House and Senate concerning adding hundreds of miles of rivers to the Wild and Scenic Rivers designation, and other conservation concerns. American Whitewater has sent a link that can be easily used to register your support for these various bills. Let's do what we can to protect our rivers while we can!  Learn more by clicking here.

Tom Douglas:

The Cypress Creek Watershed Partnership was formed to address water quality problems such as fecal bacteria, nutrients, low dissolved oxygen, and habitat for aquatic life. All users of Cypress Creek, including paddlers, are sincerely invited to participate. Please bring your ideas to one or more of these upcoming meetings. More about the work of the Partnership is available here and on the Cypress Creek Watershed Partnership website.
