Description:

   Tom Douglas
Getting to Know Lake Charlotte with Tom Douglas and friends

Learn about Lake Charlotte, invasive plant species, navigating the lake and some highlights of the shoreline and swamp areas. Tom has had 3 paddle outings this past year with the purpose to map out the path that water follows through the lower Trinity River Basin during periods of very high flow. And we’ve had plenty of water this past year to assist his studies!

All of his trips have started at Cedar Hill Park on Lake Charlotte, but followed different paths to the western side of the river basin - Hugo Park and FM 1409.

Due to the high water, they maneuvered through slightly submerged cypress knees, hiked to visit a live oak tree and pecan tree that are very large and old and paid their respects at a memorial marker for Corporal Miller – from the War of 1812.

Be sure to set this date aside on your calendar, then come out and support your club.
