  Bicycle, tandem bicycle, mountain biking, camping, fishing, birding, sailing.

How did you get started canoeing?
  BSA-Boy Scouts of America

How many years of paddling experience do you have?
  50+

What boats do you now own? 
  2 canoes, 2 kayaks and a sailboat.

What is your favorite place to paddle? 
  Utley Crossing to Bastrop... overnighting on Boy Scout Island (the old Freeze Trip location)

Do you prefer a canoe or a kayak? 
  Canoe

Do you use a single blade or double blade paddle? 
  Single blade.

What do you like most about the sport? 
  The quiet; connecting with nature.

What do you like least about the sport? 
  Whitecaps and the wind in your face!

What is an important safety tip? 
  ALWAYS wear your PFD.

Why do you paddle? 
  When you are paddling a river, you are in your own world.

If you could do a fantasy tandem paddle with anyone you wish, with whom would it be?
  My girlfriend, Cora Jane, on the Yukon River.

What was your worst moment ever?
  Watching two novice paddlers' boat get swept under a logjam strainer in the Yukon.

What was your best moment ever in a canoe?
   Listening to the loons in the Boundary Waters... no, seeing a bear swim across the river in front of us on the Yukon... no, fishing for smallmouth bass on the Guadalupe.
