October 17th, 2021 (9 am - 12 pm) Missions Tour de Goliad. This float is part of a weekend event to celebrate the 30th Mission Tour de Goliad and starts at SARA Branch Park. The Canoe Trail Goliad is asking for a $5 donation to help in their efforts to increase the use of the San Antonio River in Goliad. See the Canoe Trail Goliad Website for more information.
November 6, 2021 Goliad Fall Flotilla. This is a family friendly paddling event and perfect for novice paddlers. The Flotilla follows the Goliad Paddling Trail route from the 59 Bridge west of downtown Goliad to Goliad State Park and Historic Site. It is a 6.6 mile trail. This year there will be an option for more experienced paddlers. The other trail is a 12 mile stretch of the Paddling Trail starting at Riverdale Bridge Landing and the take out will be at the 59 Bridge (the put in for the 6.6 mile paddle). They will run concurrently. This is not an HCC event, but you will be eligible for Club Miles. Fran Wilcox will coordinate the mileage for this event (not the October 17th paddle). The paddle is free and so is the shuttle for both runs. It is sponsored by Canoe Trail Goliad and you must register on their website prior to this paddle.
Goliad State Park is a great place to camp and avoid the long drive (180 miles) on Saturday morning. The only fee is $4 for State Part Day Use (or additional $ if you choose to camp)
