The topic of the program for the Thursday July 22 meeting of the Houston Parks Board’s virtual Lunch and Learn series will be “Explore Nature on Houston Area Paddling Trails.” Focused mainly on paddling, the presentation by HCC member Tom Douglas will also cover safety, other recreational uses of our bayous, and the dynamic nature of rivers. His talk will be organized around the Houston area’s six designated paddling trails: Cypress Creek, Greens Bayou, Buffalo Bayou, Brays Bayou, Clear Creek, and Armand Bayou. The other presenter on July 22 will be Danny Zirilli, Houston Parks Board Construction Manager, who will address launch sites and recreational safety along the Bayou Greenways. The presentations will be followed by a Q & A session.
