I am looking at doing Buffalo Bayou from SH 6 to Sabine Street this Saturday. The distance is roughly 25 miles and it includes almost the entirety of the Buffalo Bayou Paddling Trail, as originally established. The primary purpose of this, other than just to do it and get a little exercise, is to get a preliminary look at the conditions along the trail and a view of all the launch/landing sites from the water. The bayou is running in the neighborhood of the median at the west end, and slightly below the median below Piney Point, so it should be a fairly easy/current assisted run, with a few rapid/bumpy spots.
