What was your best moment ever in a canoe?
In my kayak, surviving the trip down the Pecos river with low water. I really learned how to paddle and maneuver.
What was your worst moment ever?
On a trip down the Pecos river, my kayak got wedged between rocks and filled with water. It was like pouring water from a pitcher into my kayak. I had to pull out all my gear that was floating and take it to shore. We couldn't bail the water as it was pouring into the kayak so we un-lodged it from the rocks and I floated with it down the river until I could get to the shore where I could dump the water. I didn't know a kayak full of water would still float. Underwater. Needless to say when we finally made camp that evening I had 1 pair of semi dry clothes. That's it. Even though I had dry bags, everything got wet. The saving grace was, we camped on a ledge by a tree which I named the fashion tree. I had every piece of clothing, bedding, etc. hanging from the tree, drying. While packing up the next morning, I noticed a few undergarments were missing......hmmmmm
