We will launch from the nice new park facility of Joe Matthews Park, Mont Belvieu. They have installed a state of the art boat launch site for non-motorized craft, about 2 miles upstream of the 1409 road crossing we have traditionally used. This will be a slow paced trip, heading upstream about 2 miles to turn around and come back to the launch site. Depending on the will of the paddlers, at that point we can adjourn to Iguana Joe's restaurant (146 very close to I-10) for lunch. Another alternative for those wishing a more extended paddle trip, is continuing downstream to the 1409 bridge and returning to the park. Weather prediction this early in the week is for a cool day. There is one potential problem involving the launch site - it was designed for higher water than what I observed last Sunday, the 11th, so the fancy launch is 6" out of the water and could be challenging.
