Stubblefield Lake
July 10, 2010
by Mary Zaborowski
Hey Guys:

Wonderful day, Saturday July 10, for a paddle at Stubblefield Lake off of the West San Jacinto River in the Sam Houston National Forest.

Dave Kitson, Natalie Weist, Dana Enos, Sondra Fabian, Paul Woodcock and myself - Mary Zaborowski had a great time paddling 8 miles up and back the West San Jacinto River that morning. Saw many a fish jump, gars, blue herons, and a baby fawn swimming on the edge of the water to get to shore with it's mom in the bushes. Beautiful flowers everywhere. Good water flow and beautiful blue sky... yes sun!!!!  Paddle back to have a POT LUCK "Feast" lunch.

Good Friends to talk of paddling days of the past and of future trips.  Thanks guys for coming and paddling.... wonderful time and great paddle.!!!!!

So hey HCC paddlers, between the storms from the gulf "GET OUT AND PADDLE"... Canoe or kayak, solo or tandem... WE HAVE WATER!!!!  IT'S PADDLE TIME!!!!!

P. S. Contact me through this e-mail if you are interested in a weekend at Huntsville State Park.  The weekend of Oct 1-2-3, 2010. Vendors, instructors, campers and paddlers (experienced and noobies are welcome).  Planning a "Octpaddlefest" from all over the state and other state paddling clubs. Saturday Night Group Campfire to honor paddlers who have gone before us from Texas and other states who enjoyed the thrill of paddling.!!!!!
