A multi-day progressive camping kayak/canoe trip down the Buffalo River, from Ponca to Woolum, camping along the way at river-side campgrounds, or at primitive river-bank camping when no campgrounds are available.  We will self-shuttle.  Since weather in this vicinity can be highly variable this time of year, participants will be expected to be able to cope with wind, rain, sleet, sun, heat, etc.

This adventure starts and ends with a long drive.  Shuttles, good food, hikes, rapids (up to Class II), rocks, waterfalls, greenery, large granite block walls with seeps, and more rocks characterize this trip.  The trip plan includes two nights camping out of your boat (3 days “heavy”).  The plan will remain flexible as conditions change.  Rain is a high probability during this seson.  That’s why it’s so green.  Rain is also critical to maintain sufficient water for the trip.

Additional details will be shared with registered participants.

There no payment or fee for the event, but there will be some event-related expenses for meals, showers, incidentals and camping fees, and of course gasoline and meals to get there.

Number of participants for the event is limited to 8, HCC members only
