Commodore  Lynn Larremore        487-XXXX
Vice-Commodore        Lisa Emmons 462-XXXX
Recorder-Purser Cindy Linden 776-XXXX
Fleet Captain John Tompkins 695-XXXX

The Meeting was called to order by Lynn Larremore, who introduced our visitors: Ron Icenogle, Dennis Pumilia, Linda Adair, Mark Smith, Louis Aulbach, & Warren Horowir.  Welcome!!

The Minutes from the previous meeting were read and the Purser's report was given.  There was no Board of Governors report to be given.

Lynn introduced our special guests, Officer Huntley & Officer Madejek, Harris Country Sheriffs' Dept., Marine Div., who showed the film "White Water Primer" and talked about water safety.  The only safety regulations that directly applied to were: 1.) At night, must have a white light with a 360° visibility, 2.) Your canoe must be registered only if you have a motor on it, & 3.) All children under 12 are required to wear a life jacket.

John Tompkins gave the Fleet Captain's report of past & upcoming trips.

Past Outings:

10-18
Guadalupe River clean-up

10-18
Park People's Buffalo Bayou Float
10-18/19
Neches River, FT. Teran to Lake Bouton----If we hadn't had to paddle, make camp, & cook
in the rain, we might not have learned that cooking in the tents works pretty well.  Sunday
was beautiful.
11-8
Navidad River--The put-in turned out to be a lake so the trip started 13 miles upstream.
Fought strong head winds most of the way which made it seem easier to turn around and
go the other way, but we didn't.  Saw many water birds and alligator.

Howard Faye took a trip in kayaks on the Guadalupe and J.C. & Ninon took kayaks on the San Marcos.

Upcoming Outings:

11-27/30
Thanksgiving on the Rio Grande-Boquillas Canyon--call Lisa at 462-XXXX.  We are planning
a feast for Thurs. eve.  With the club furnishing the turkey and ham.  Anyone interested should
call Lisa or Alberta (487-XXXX) for food assignments.  Permits are required, so if you're going,
let me know!  Put-in at Rio Grande Village at noon, but the earlier you get there, the better.
If you're interested in caravanning Wed. A.M. call Lisa, or Wed. evening, call John Tompkins.

11-27/30
Little Missouri-Arkansas--Call Howard at 879-XXXX  Howard says this trip will depend on if
the needed rain comes.  Definitely a trip you'll get wet on if the water's up.

12-9
Christmas party-Lewis's Clubhouse at 7:00 p.m.  Call Lewis at 937-XXXX.  The club will furnish
a ham for this also and everyone should bring snack foods and whatever you're going to be
drinking.

Easter-'81
Ozark Riverways-where the Current & Jack Fork Rivers come together.  Call Myrna Salaun at
725-XXXX.  Crystal clear spring water and lots of caves and beautiful country to explore.
More later.

After discussion on the boat show, the meeting was adjourned and refreshments served by Alberta while we viewed the film, "Rapids of the Colorado".
