This seems like a safe way to protect gear and boats without displaying your name and address to the general public.
The ACA (American Canoe Association), the Coast Guard and HOST Hawaii have created a new sticker program. You simply scan the sticker to register it, place the “Scan if Found” sticker on your boat, paddle, or other critical gear and if lost, a finder can scan the sticker with their phone to be able to contact you through an encrypted site.
